It was a first go-round for a visioning/vision quest at Kayser Ridge Retreat & Learning Center. As often happens when the right people assemble for the right work, and at the right time — it can be transformational. I’m still basking in the light of this incredible collection of amazing women including lead facilitators, Christiane Frischmuth and Sally Colella. I was so impacted, that on the morning of second day a poem jumped out of my pen…Here’s my capture of one tidbit of the weekend experience.
Star Travel
There is no need to ask why
these stars traveled
to a place in the sky.
They were convened for this call
some friends true,
acquaintances and strangers
for a time, a few.
And in Love’s service, all.
Courageously, vulnerably
stepping like first steps as last
they touched the ground
carrying past
over and around
into new spaces.
Those pieces and traces
like the two caps —
fibers sheered, knitted or woven,
in that time gifted, from backs, hands and hearts unseen
to a wearer’s head void of hair.
In this time no longer, and gifted to fire
to rise them up as sparks in a flicker.
There is no need to ask why
these stars traveled
to a place in the sky.
They were convened for this call
friends true,
acquaintances and strangers
for a time, a few.
In in Love’s service, all.
